Hello.  What part of this design makes it not usable for overhead lifting?  I am looking for a shackle like this for the utility industry that will be able to slip through the fiberglass/shieve portion at the end of our digger-derricks without damaging the fiberglass. Great question! For years, Ulven/Skookum has said their Ulven forestry shackles are not rated for overhead lifting. However, just today they put in writing that the following shackles are marked with a Working Load Limit and can indeed be used for overhead lifting: 101, 102, 106, 110 and 110S. This is great news!
