I would not call it inferior, no. We brought in the 4144 padlock because it does have larger dimensions, and some of our customer have 14-16mm chain of their own that they want to use, they just need a big padlock. This, and the fact its keys are not dimpled, make the 4144 a good choice for some of our customers. For those using Pewag 12mm chain, or a different chain of similar specs, the 4153 is still a great choice. One negative (depending on your opinion) with the 4153 is that its keys are dimpled, and most locksmiths cannot cut/replicate them. So if you want more keys, you're out of luck. With the 4144 and 4126, the keys are easier to obtain from a typical locksmith (we stock some key blanks for those that want them).
You may want to look at this spec sheet as well, and study the features and differences between the "Monolith" and "Euromonolith" locks.
