Here's the response from the manufacturer:Our drip torches are not double walled because they do not need to be. The quality of the single cast welded construction/design (thickness of wall, quality metal, quality weld) passes DOT performance testing and removes the need to reinforce with an extra base/wall. A double walled drip torch in reality is not stronger than our single walled design but is double because if it were single it would crack and fail DOT performance testing.
