The max load for the saddle is 300 lbs, and a size XL should accommodate your 48" waist. You'll be right at the limits of the saddle though. On the other hand, if you have a crew of highly trained monkeys with chainsaws at your disposal, we'd be all for that, and we kindly request pictures and/or video!
