When you state in the direction of the load for the 45 degree angle what do you mean? Do you have an image for reference? For instance if I connect a rope to the anchor and pull on the rope would the anchor be 45 degrees towards me or away?

Sorry, but we don't have an illustration handy. Essentially, you want to apply the load in line with the anchor when possible. If the anchor is installed vertically in the soil (up and down), then ideally the load would be applied vertically as well. If the anchor is installed at an angle, then the load should be applied at that same angle.
