Yes, this cable should work well in that application. Swaged wire rope is very common in logging, often running through pulleys and sheaves, dragging through the brush and commonly spooled on drums. The smooth shape of it actually helps it last longer on drums. It is stiff, stiffer than regular cable, and that's due to its linear density which translates into strength. It weighs more per foot than regular cable because there is more steel, thus a higher strength rating. The only other consideration would be Regular Swaged Wire Rope, which has a heavier lube that helps the cable flex a little better. But it is messier, and many people wish to avoid that. In that case, the galvanized super swaged cable is a good choice.
