We finally received a lengthy response from Gunnebo on this. I will paste it below, but I also wanted to clarify that this master link, and those like it (even different brands) are used quite often to make lifting/safety bridles for hoisting and securing personnel baskets. I don't know that any manufacturer specifically calls out their master links and fittings for this use, but this is how it's done.
No, they are in generaldesigned and manufactured according to normal lifting standards as;
EN 1677-1:2008 WLL +25% (Components for slings: Forged steel components Grade8).
ASTM A952/A 952M-02 (Forged grade 80 and grade 100 steel lifting components andweld attachment links).
ASTM A906/A906M-02 (Grade 80 and grade 100 alloy steel chain slings foroverhead lifting).
BG-Specification GS-MO15-05 ( Principles for the testing and certification ofchains and components).
None of the personnel lifting standards, if such exists, have been in scope.The products as such would probably work, but normally additional testing aswell as special markings might be required.
