Good catch. Yes, that was a miscommunication, I suppose that's the best way to put it. The 3012 chain still works with all the same padlocks it always has, it's just that the chain itself has been discontinued by Pewag. If you find some out there somewhere, it's likely the last of what's left. Pewag is only going to offer the galvanized version going forward, which really does make sense for most applications.
I'm told a fix is coming for the padlock compatibility chart soon.
