Keyed alike only applies if you are ordering more than one padlock or kit at a time, and you want all padlocks to take the same key. If you're ordering just one kit, it is keyed different automatically. If you are ordering two or more, you have a choice. Often times businesses that want to deploy multiple padlocks on their property, yet have them all take the same key, choose keyed alike.
