The 12mm (1/2") size has a core hardness of 42 HRC and has held up extremely well--it's our #1 selling security chain. But, if you want a chain that is hardened all the way through, you may want to look at Peerless' 11mm Security Chain. It is hardened all the way through from 53-58 HRC.
