Different manufacturers have different pin colors. Most offer the same type of bale, which is galvanized and they all look similar. Generally speaking, the pin color is how the differentiate or "brand" their shackles. CM uses orange (some shackles arrive without orange pins), Crosby uses red, Gunnebo uses brown, etc.
