Most customers use a shackle or similar device to connect to the swivel. Assuming you're doing that and the connectors are properly sizes then yes, you can use this larger swivel on 1/2" line.
Can I use this prouct with a 1/2" wire, as we need a 6T swivel hook like that on our HIAB crane, but the wire used is only 1/2". Miller 6T Thrust Bearing Jaw & Hook Swivel - 12000 lbs WLL - #6E185
