The answer is yes, you would need some sort of insert, but we do not have such a fitting to offer you. Please also read below the response from Crosby, the product mfg.
"Crosby doesnt have a presence in the pre-cast concrete market. All of our products are designed with bolting into, threading into, or even being welded to the load. If they can find some sort of embedded anchor that would also be compatible with the threads on our eye bolt, that would be acceptable. Currently, Crosby does not have any suggestions of who to seek out."
