These units are rated IP65 (NEMA 4), which indicates "dust tight" and protection against water projected from a nozzle. So yes, you should be able to use this unit outdoors, but prolonged exposure to the elements could result in eventual damage, and it should be noted these units are not submersible (IP67/68).
