I intend to cut #16 "Jack-Chain". This cutter looks as though it may be ideal as a manual product. A consideration may be how tiring using a hammer would be after hours use at a time. What weight of drop would be necessary to clean cut that grade of wire used in that chain?

Unfortunately we do not have specific information regarding the use of this cutter and the chain you have. But, since this cutter is rated to cut up to 3/4" wire rope, it should have no problem cutting your #16 chain. The only possible issue could be if the chain is too small and soft, it may binder where the blade sinks into the base, but we would not have a way of testing that.
