Can I use this block with 3/4" Manila rope? Is a yarding block and standard block designed for different jobs?

You could probably fit 3/4" manila rope in this block, you just need to be careful, file down any sharp edges and use the block for synthetic line only (don't mix wire rope with soft rope on the same block/sheave). The names are more just designations, somewhat arbitrary. Really, a yarding block is not much different than a traditional xxxx block, except it doesn't have a swivel hook or shackle on top.
