Other (similar) clamp designs state they are only to be used for materials with a surface hardness below HRC 30 (HB 300, Brinel 1300). For sheet metal, it indicates that would allow use for mild steel but not stainless steel, and it also states it is not for use with aluminum. Is this device usable with SS or aluminum as well as mild steel plate?

We heard back from the mfg. and they stated the following: "Yes, this can be used for stainless steel or aluminum. However, since these are very soft metals, the user runs the risk of damaging the sheet and making it unusable in the operation."
