Swaged cable is essentially regular cable that is compacted down to a smaller size. This makes it stronger, as it weighs more per foot on a size-by-size basis. It also makes the cable smoother, which means it performs well when spooled on drums because it will not "scrub" itself as much as regular cable. The one downside for many is that swaged cable is stiffer. Unfortunately the benefits go along with this drawback.
