I am looking for a 1" wire rope clip that will squeeze two lengths together to make a loop. I need at least 2 inches in the loop part. Please let me know if this will work.

Please see the attached image, taken from the Chicago Hardware catalog. For their 1" clips, it shows inside dimensions of the U-bolt as 3-5/8" x 1-1/8". While not all manufacturers will have identical dimensions, they will all be close. Assuming these are the dimensions you're asking about, you should have plenty of room.
