Is it possible to crimp the sides down with pliers or other hand tools?

Per the mfg. specs, these are not to be swaged with a hand swager (or other similar tools). Customers try, but the results are mixed and generally it's not recommended. To properly install these one should use a pneumatic or hydraulic swager with proper dies.
