Would this product be appropriate for an interior cable railing system? I am looking for a black cable and the black oxide cable I found through a cable railing system web site has a greasy coating on it. The powder coated cable they offer is not true black, more grey. Can you give me some more info about this cable? Is the black finish durable? Are the pics on the website a true representation of the product?

Unfortunately we just do not have enough empirical data to suggest this cable is good for your application. It may work fine, but this cable is typically used indoors in theatrical environments, so whether or not it would hold up indefinitely in the elements is just not something we can give a firm yes or no on. The pictures on the website are indeed a true representation of the product, yes. The underlying cable is galvanized as well, so the question isn't necessarily if the cable will rust quickly, but rather will the black coating stay intact.
