What is the big difference between the 4000 and the 5000 besides the $100? I'd prefer the lighter model because I will be hauling it around in my jet boat. I will be using it to drag logs to build a cabin, possibly drag one moose a year out of the woods and pulling my boat out when I run aground. I definitely wont be using it every day in an industrial setting, but it will see more use than the weekend warrior. How much quality is that 10lbs costing me?

We do not believe there is a quality drop-off between the 4000 and 5000. We can tell you that the 4000 is a much newer model, so its track record is not yet fully proven like the 5000. But, the 4000 has two main upgrades: 1) Integrated rope cleats to capture pulling progress, and 2) 360º tilt capability. Using the winch on a hill or any kind of steep angle will not prevent it from operating.
