P100 cartridges worn properly on a fitted mask should provide sufficient protection. Remember at first they recommended N95 masks, but as supply dried up, people started switching/upgrading to P100 systems.
N95 = 95% filtration efficiency against certain non-oil based particles
P100 = 99.97% filter efficiency level, effective against all particulate aerosols
In the end, the mask is just one piece, and the other critical part is the filter used, how often it's replaced, etc.
