How does the lock and chain hold up laying on the ground in outside elements?

It's tough to say, your particular climate in Florida could prove difficult, but we have many customers in Florida using this chain and they all have been quite happy. The galvanizing is quite good, but you may still develop surface rust that will need to be removed from time to time.
