When pulling onto a logging drum under load, does this rope "dive" ? Assuming it does, how practical is it to pull it out by hand? Do you need a piece of machinery to pull it out?

Yes, under load this rope can indeed "dive" or "bury" itself on the drum. How often this happens will depend on how well/tightly the rope is spooled, how heavy the loads are during use, etc. Most customers are able to retrieve the rope back to the surface without too much trouble, no special tools needed.
