There is not an internal spring, but rather an external piece of cable that keeps the eye under tension (closed) when not in use.
Is there a spring inside of this rope grab, like the Climb Right grabs, which adds tension to the grab to keep it engaged, rather than slipping open when it's not under tension? Rock Exotica RG2 90° RockGrab
