Galvanized cable generally works fine in fresh water, although not this type. EHS is a very specific type of cable that is very stiff. If you want to connect the cable using cable clamps, we'd recommend this type of cable. Of course, you can spend more and get 304 or 316 stainless, but it's generally not necessary.
