Abus 12KS 1/2" (12mm) x 250 cm Security Chain Loop w/ Sleeve Q&A
Activity timeframe
I've read that one of the advantages of square links is the fact that bolt cutters cannot get a proper "bite" on the link to break it. I need the capability of a chain with a loop pass-through, but now that we've introduced a traditional round link into the equation, doesn't that in fact become the "weak link in the chain" because a round link that is more susceptible to bolt cutters? Additionally, if the square links are 1/2 inch, what is the width/strength of the round pass-through link? If it's rounder, thinner and more susceptible to bolt cutters, it kind of negates the strength of the entire chain overall. Any input or information you have on limitations of the round pass-through would be greatly appreciated. View answer
